The country of Bosnia i Hercegovina, or shortened Bosnia, is situated in the heart of the Balkans between Serbia und Croatia. During the Balkan wars in the mid of the 1990s it was also in the center of conflict between the different ethnicities and religions of the region. The scars of the wars are still visible and dividing lines are running through the country and even through particular cities. But Bosnia has more to offer. It is a young country with a large part of the population being 30 and younger, also the nature is stunning and beautiful. Being a relatively cheap travel destination as well it is a good starting point to discover the Balkans and lear more about its history.
