Third, just to Sicily and Sardegna, Elba is one of the largest islands in Italy. Historically, it was necessary for its iron production and mining. Today, it is a tourist hotspot, but not as run over as other parts of Italy. Luckily, the islanders successfully maintained Elba’s authenticity and quietness.
Elba is an island on the western coast of Italy. Mostly known for being the last principality of Napoleon after being exiled from France. Also, it is a place where many beautiful flowers grow all over the main town of Portoferraio.

While traveling in Italy during early fall, the sun still seems to be your constant companion; the heat isn’t as overbearing anymore as in summer, though. So you can better enjoy this European country, which is particularly rich in history as well as in nature.
The so-called Trullis are roundhouses famous in certain parts of the Apuglia region in Italy. They are built of stone and allow pleasant temperatures even in the summer heat, similar to caves. They used to be houses for the poor, but since the 20th Century, they have gained popularity, and towns featuring them, like Alberobello, have become magnets for visitors worldwide.
Deep down in a valley in the region of Apuglia in southern Italy lies Alberobello, a beautiful town distinguished by peculiar architecture and the shining white color of its buildings.
