The Ligurian Coast is situated on the west of the Italian peninsula at the Mediterranean Sea. It is characterized by a fractured coastal landscape with many little villages and a lot of beautiful nature hidden in between. There are beaches as well of course, but not as many as in other parts of the country, which is for the better.
At times, the Lake of Como in northern Italy was called the Lake of Aristocrats; this is not without a reason, of course. Due to its temperate climate close to the Alps and the beautiful scenery, Como was popular as a place of residence for many European aristocrats. It was used as a summer resort for many wealthy families. Exploring the lake and its shores, you begin to understand why exactly.
In summer, the shores of Lake Como are covered by beautiful nature and flowers in all different colors. The lake and its surroundings seem to be alive and breathing at this particular time of the year. In contrast to many other places in Italy, it isn’t too hot either; the climate is temperate and inviting for a long walk along the shore to enjoy the unique scenery.
Bellagio was always famous for its unique location, situated at the shore of Lake Como on a peninsula. A beautiful town full of life and full of flowers, it offers visitors incredible cuisine and beautiful architecture to explore. Although it is a well-known place, the locals are helpful and always smiling. Como is pure Italy and a gem in the north of the country you shouldn’t miss.
Being a well-known retreat for wealthy people throughout the ages, many impressive villas were built around the lake of Como. Some of them are still standing today, rich and spacious palaces with beautiful gardens built in different styles. Many of them are private, but some can be visited during a guided tour or on your own.
Lake Como is situated in northern Italy and is one of the largest bodies of water in the country. It is well known for its beautiful towns and spacious villas. In summer, when it’s unbearably hot in many parts of the country, Italian people like to retreat to Como for relaxation in a more temperate climate. Already in ancient times, the lake was known for its splendid summer houses. Today, the lake remains a popular travel destination all around the year for Italians and international guests alike.
