Travelling Bosnia

This is the last and final part of my series about traveling to Bosnia and Hercegovina in the heart of the Balkans. It is an exciting and still conflicted country; the remnants of the wars can still be seen, and Bosnia remains divided. At the same time, it is a beautiful country with stunning nature and a rich history full of helpful and friendly people. And it is (for now) a relatively cheap travel destination, very much recommendable to backpackers. The pictures below were shot in Mostar and Sarajevo.

The Adria

In 2018, I was fortunate enough to travel to the Adriatic Sea (shortened: Adria) several times, both privately and professionally. A large part of the eastern coast of the sea belongs to the State of Croatia. A country that used to be an insider tip for travelers for many years. Today, millions of people from around the world visit Croatia. Many of them go to Dubrovnik, famous for being the real-life version of Kings Landing. But still, there are many hidden beaches and islands in Croatia where you can find time for yourself. Get sure to stay until the break of dawn so you can see the sun descending into the Adriatic Sea.

Along the Elbe River

A couple of months ago, I had the chance to travel to a part of Central Europe I hadn’t been to before. The initial plan was to travel around Northern Bohemia in the Czech Republic. At last, we ventured into the neighboring region of Southern Saxonia, too, as the borderlands are historically and geologically intertwined. The area is shaped by the Elbe River, one of the longest in Europe. Along the river, you’ll find many towns; some are charming and touristy, while others are more industrial in nature (pictures 2, 3, 6). The highlight is the magnificent landscape shaped by sandstone (picture 5). Climb one of the many mountaintops around sunset and enjoy the fantastic view (last photo).
