The city of Zürich is often called lovingly “Züri” by the local residents. In the region of Zürich, there are almost 1,3 Million inhabitants, making it the largest agglomeration in Switzerland. A city with a long history, it was founded by the Romans as a military outpost called Turicum.
Zürich is a modern town with a historic heart in the center. The city is a perfect blend of contemporary office buildings and historic housing from many different epochs, such as Baroque, classicism, and Gothic. On days with good weather conditions and perfectly blue skies, Zürich shines and shows off its variety and history while still remaining relevant in the modern world.
Coming to Würzburg in the fall, you have the chance to experience the city in beautiful, warm colors. Wandering the numerous parks and gardens of the city, you get the feeling of being in an autumn wonderland of sorts. In the midst of the spectacle, we find beautiful historic buildings that add to the picturesque look at this particular time of the year.
The city of Würzburg is situated in the heart of Germany at the river Main. It is blessed with many historic monuments, such as the Baroque Residence or the medieval Old Main Bridge. Situated at the river upon a hill, we find the Marienburg castle with a magnificent view over the old town. In the background, we can spot vineyards as far as the eye can see, due to the region being an important agricultural center for wine.
The Cathedral of St.-Kilian in the city of Würzburg is dedicated to the holy figure of St. Kilian. The church is 105 meters long, and it is the fourth most prominent Roman Catholic clerical building in Germany.
The natural beauty of Switzerland is vast and seemingly never-ending. The Alps, in particular, offer stunning views and a variety of different plants and environments. When the sun is shining, and the skies are clear, the colors are vibrant, and nature seems to be incredibly alive.
