Nature of Plitvice

If you think about paradise, the national park of Plitvice in central Croatia comes pretty close to it. A marvelous place of nature it encompasses 296,85 square kilometers of pure wild. The forests seem to be endless, and the gentle hills make for some beautiful curves in the panorama. Here and there, you find a castle, a water mill, or a trail leading to a lake with some stunning waterfalls.

The Adria

In 2018, I was fortunate enough to travel to the Adriatic Sea (shortened: Adria) several times, both privately and professionally. A large part of the eastern coast of the sea belongs to the State of Croatia. A country that used to be an insider tip for travelers for many years. Today, millions of people from around the world visit Croatia. Many of them go to Dubrovnik, famous for being the real-life version of Kings Landing. But still, there are many hidden beaches and islands in Croatia where you can find time for yourself. Get sure to stay until the break of dawn so you can see the sun descending into the Adriatic Sea.

Dubrovnik Main Square

Spring 2011

Dubrovnik is truly amazing. Such a beautiful city, like an old postcard coming alive in front of your eyes. And not only coming alive but truly transforming into a living and breathing organizm. Dubrovnik is old and historic but never feels like an outdoor museum or a cheap tourist attraction, very much like Cracow in Poland and Edinburgh in Schottland. Two other great and often overlooked european cities.
